Beswick (England, 1974). Pair of glazed polychrome ceramic figurines from the Alice Series, depicting the King of Hearts and the Queen of Hearts. The Queen is modeled in a standing pose wearing a dark blue and black robe with green scroll-work trim and a heart-patterned yellow underskirt. The King is modeled in a seated position wearing spectacles and a maroon and white robe with a heart motif on the reverse. Each figure features a black transfer-print mark on the underside identifying the series and character, with a 1974 Royal Doulton Tableware Ltd copyright date.
