This sterling silver Kiddush cup features a tapered bowl with a flared rim, set upon a short stem and a stepped circular foot. The front of the bowl is ornamented with an applied Magen David (Star of David) containing intricate silver wire filigree. Below the star is an applied banner with embossed Hebrew inscriptions that read from right to left: Borei Pri Ha-Gafen. This translates to Who creates the fruit of the vine, which is the concluding phrase of the traditional Jewish blessing over wine. The interior of the cup is finished with a golden-toned vermeil wash. Sterling impressed mark is on bottom rim of cup. Total weight 28g.
