Lot 423 Volkstedt Dresden Porcelain Lace Ballerina Figurine

A single polychrome glazed porcelain figurine depicting a seated ballerina, attributed to the style and manufacture of Volkstedt or Dresden porcelain houses in Germany. The figure is seated upon a decorative rococo-style stool, which is accented with gilt detailing. The ballerina wears a light blue bodice and a voluminous tutu rendered in the delicate porcelain lace-drape technique, featuring pink and white coloration. The base underside features a green stamped maker's mark, the incised number 649, the number 14, and red stamped text reading handgemalt (hand-painted) and Made in Germany. This figurine of ballerina, with backstamp and impressed number, is characteristic of German ornamental porcelain production of the mid-20th century.
