Lot 412 Gorham Norman Rockwell Winter Gay Blades Porcelain Figurine Group
A single polychrome glazed porcelain figurine group manufactured by Gorham, inspired by Norman Rockwells 1948 Four Seasons Illustration titled "Winter - Gay Blades." The composition depicts a dynamic winter scene featuring three figures: a man ice skating, a child spectator, and a small brown and white dog, all resting on a white, snow-like base. The figurine is constructed of glazed porcelain with hand-painted details. The underside of the base is marked with gold printed text reading, "THIS SELECTION INSPIRED BY / Norman Rockwells / FOUR SEASONS ILLUSTRATIONS FOR 1948 / Winter - Gay Blades / FROM THE GIFT WORLD OF GORHAM." A separate black and gold foil label for "Cardell / SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH" is affixed to the base. Faint, incised text identifying "Norman Rockwell" is visible on the top surface of the base near the figures.
