Lot 403 Gorham Norman Rockwell First Edition Figurine Summer The Mysterious Malady
A single porcelain figurine group, produced by Gorham, titled Summer – The Mysterious Malady. This selection is inspired by Norman Rockwell's Four Seasons Illustrations for 1958. The scene depicts a young, barefoot boy, wearing a blue hat, plaid shirt, and blue overalls with suspenders, seated on a small wooden stool. He is feeding a small dog or puppy resting in a wooden crate on a grassy, naturalistic base. The piece is identified as a First Edition from the Gift World of Gorham. Inscribed markings on the underside of the base confirm the attribution and title: THIS SELECTION INSPIRED BY NORMAN ROCKWELL'S FOUR SEASONS ILLUSTRATIONS FOR 1958, FIRST EDITION, Summer – The Mysterious Malady, and FROM THE GIFT WORLD OF GORHAM. A decal also indicates Made in Japan.
