^Lot 388 A Pair of Goebel M.I. Hummel Apple Tree Girl and Apple Tree Boy Figurines

A pair of polychrome hand-painted ceramic figurines manufactured by Goebel in West Germany. The first figurine, titled Apple Tree Girl (model 141/I), depicts a young girl wearing a red headscarf and blue dress seated in a flowering tree with a bird perched above. The second figurine, titled Apple Tree Boy (model 142/I), depicts a young boy in a green cap and blue jacket seated in an apple tree holding fruit, with a bird perched below. Both figurines feature a matte glaze finish. The underside of each base bears the blue underglaze Goebel trademark featuring a stylized bee inside a V above Goebel and W. Germany. The girl figurine is incised with 141/I and 79, with a handwritten black 79. The boy figurine is incised with 142/I and 84, with a handwritten black 84.
