Lot 376 Goebel Hummel, One Coat or Two? Figurine and Painting Pals Hummelscape

This Goebel Hummel two-piece set includes the One Coat or Two? hand-painted porcelain figurine and the coordinating Painting Pals Hummelscape backdrop. The figurine, model HUM 2040, depicts a young boy artist wearing a folded newspaper hat, holding a brush with blue paint and carrying a green bucket. The accompanying Hummelscape backdrop, identified as Mark # 1019-D, provides a three-dimensional scene featuring a half-timbered wall, a small cat, a bird, and a window shutter with a heart-shaped cutout. The reverse of the backdrop shows a detailed cottage exterior with a climbing rose bush. The figurine features the blue Goebel TMK-8 trademark and a Millennium 2000 commemorative backstamp. The backdrop base retains its original gold label and circular collection label. This 2 hum set is a first issue release. Height: 6.5 inches.
