Lot 374 Goebel Hummel Wayside Devotion Figurine Hum 28/II TMK-2 Full Bee

This Goebel M.I. Hummel figurine, titled Wayside Devotion and designated as model Hum 28/II, is a hand-painted ceramic piece produced in Germany. The scene depicts two children seated on a rustic wooden fence; a young boy wearing a green Tyrolean-style hat and purple jacket plays a yellow horn, while a young girl in an orange dress and headscarf sits beside him. To their right stands a tall wayside shrine featuring a carved crucifix under a gabled roof. Two lambs are positioned in the grass at the base of the fence. The figurine is finished in a matte palette. The back of the base is incised with the M.I. Hummel signature. The underside of the base contains the incised model number 28/II and the title DEVOTION P. It bears the blue Goebel Full Bee trademark (TMK-2) stamped inside a V, along with a black Germany stamp and small blue hand-painted numbers 1 and 2. A vintage retailer paper label is also attached to the underside.
