A set of four Royal Doulton polychrome glazed ceramic character jugs from the Colonial Williamsburg collection, including a commission for Pascoe & Company. The group features depictions of prominent American historical figures: Mark Twain, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington. Each jug is designed with a thematic handle accessory, including a quill pen and inkwell for Twain, a kite and key for Franklin, a Gettysburg Address scroll for Lincoln, and a formal scroll for Washington. The undersides bear official Royal Doulton maker's marks and identification numbers, including D 6824, D 6694, and D 6695. The Abraham Lincoln figure is marked as a commission for Pascoe & Company, Made in England. The George Washington jug includes a commemorative inscription for the 200th anniversary of the election of the first President of the United States.
