^Lot 232 2pc Royal Doulton Large Character Jugs, King James I & Chelsea Pensioner

Two Royal Doulton ceramic character jugs including King James I (D7181) and Chelsea Pensioner (D6817). The King James I jug is a limited edition piece numbered 538 of 1,000, issued in 2002 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the 1603 accession. Designed by Valerie Annand, it features the monarch in a black hat with a gilt crest and a white ruff collar, with a handle in the form of an ornate scepter and orb. The Chelsea Pensioner jug, designed by Stanley James Taylor and dated 1988, depicts a veteran in a red uniform and black tricorn hat, with a handle composed of a vertical array of British military medals. Bases are marked with the Royal Doulton backstamp, model titles, and identification numbers.
