This Royal Doulton depicts the Persian poet and scholar in a seated, cross-legged pose. The figure is dressed in a traditional large orange turban, a beige robe over dark green sleeves, and brown trousers. He holds a small red book in one hand and a patterned purple and blue vessel in the other. The piece is finished with a polychrome glaze. The underside features the green Royal Doulton printed backstamp, the title, the model number, a 1964 copyright mark, and registration numbers.
