Lot 11 Ulayu Pingwartok, Woman Sewing Kamiks, 1976/77
A framed Canadian Inuit stonecut and stencil print by Ulayu Pingwartok (1904–1978), Kinngait (Cape Dorset), titled Woman Sewing Kamiks. The composition depicts a seated woman in profile, intent on the traditional work of kamik-making, reduced to a bold and highly legible silhouette in dark grey-black against a pale ground. The sheet bears a visible syllabic signature and red Cape Dorset chop at upper right and corresponds to the documented 1976 image released in the 1977 Cape Dorset print collection, Dorset ID 77-62. Presented in a later dark wood frame with matting under glass.
