^Lot 5 Sarah Mickiyuk, Sanikiluaq, Carved Stone Seal, 1982

A Canadian Inuit carved stone seal by Sarah Mickiyuk, labeled to the underside “SANIKILUAQ, NWT” and dated Oct/82. Carved in a pale green-gray stone with attractive natural veining, the figure is modeled in a long reclining pose with uplifted head, lightly articulated flippers, and a smoothly contoured body that emphasizes the seal’s mass and glide. The underside retains its original paper identification label reading “Sarah Mickiyuk / SANIKILUAQ, NWT / Oct/82 / seal / 827-2248,” together with a faint scratched inscription and later green felt pads. A well-scaled and appealing Sanikiluaq animal carving with strong shelf presence. No visible major cracks or repairs.
