Lot 351 6pc 1976 U.S. Federal Reserve Two Dollar Notes including 1st Day Issues
Collection of five 1976 Series U.S. $2 Federal Reserve Notes, four of which are marked as First Day Issues dated April 13, 1976. Each note features the portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the obverse with green Treasury seal and serial numbers, and four bear commemorative postal cancellations - two with American flag stamps and two with "Commercial Aviation" themed stamps. The reverse displays the engraving of The Signing of the Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull. Serial numbers include examples from both the Atlanta and Kansas City Federal Reserve Banks. Notes remain in crisp, lightly handled condition with strong detail and color.
