The figure is seated on a tree stump in a fatigue pose, inspecting a boot with one foot bare. The uniform features a red coat with white horizontal braid and shoulder wings, gray trousers, and a black stovepipe shako with a red-over-white plume. Equipment includes a side drum with blue and red hoops and a black knapsack with a rolled gray greatcoat. The underside features the green Royal Doulton backstamp.
