An original illustration by Wayne Hall depicting a dramatic, crowded interior or public market scene. The central figures are a well-dressed woman in elaborate period attire, including a large headdress and a plaid skirt, interacting with a man in a light blue military or service uniform. Executed in black ink and light blue wash/watercolor on paper, which is adhered to a thick gray cardboard support. A faint, stamped inscription is visible on the rough, deckled bottom edge of the paper reading, partially, RETURN THIS DR[AWING]. The verso features a central printed stamp identifying STUDIO 24 / 19 WEST 44th ST., N.Y.C., and the name HALL is inscribed in pencil or ink in the lower right corner of the support board.
