^Lot 15 Chinese Spinach Green Jade Carved Lidded Censer with Wooden Stand

The vessel is carved from a rich spinach green stone with characteristic mottled inclusions. The compressed globular body is supported by three cabriole legs emerging from mythical beast masks. The shoulders are flanked by two dragon-head handles, each suspending a free-moving loose ring. The domed cover is surmounted by a finial depicting a seated Buddhist lion with its paw resting on a reticulated brocade ball. The piece is accompanied by a custom-carved wooden stand with recessed wells for the tripod feet.
