Small round Continental silver compact, the hinged case engraved with floral and foliate bright-cut ornament above a basket-like reserve, the underside with concentric engine-turned decoration, and the interior fitted with a mirror. Bears small side marks, not fully legible, and therefore not securely attributable to a specific maker or assay office from the available photographs. Early 20th century. A well-scaled vanity accessory with portable decorative appeal. Visible with light general wear, minor tarnish, and surface scratching consistent with age and use.
