^Lot 111 Victorian Young’s screw-fitting oil lamp

Victorian brass and glass paraffin / oil lamp with Young’s screw-fitting burner, late 19th century. The lamp with clear moulded and wheel-engraved glass shade decorated with radiating starburst and foliate motifs above a clear glass font similarly decorated with stylised foliage, fitted with brass collar and twin disc winder stamped YOUNG’S SCREW FITTING to each side. Reeded column stem rising from a domed and stepped brass socle, all mounted on a circular black glass plinth, complete with clear glass chimney. An attractive period example retaining its original burner and fittings.
