^Lot 10 Set of Four Victorian Balloon-Back Side Chairs with Upholstered Seats

Set of four Victorian balloon-back side chairs, late 19th century, each with a shaped balloon back above a pair of scroll-carved horizontal splats, over a square seat upholstered in dark leather or leathercloth, raised on turned and reeded front legs and splayed rear legs. Warm medium-brown finish with ebonized details to the carved splats and legs. Several joints are loose and some chairs will require regluing and tightening; sold as a restoration group. Approx. 33 in. high, 18–19 in. wide; seat height approx. 17–18 in.
