Lot 293 A Mary Blair Original "Peter Pan " Never Land Concept Painting.
(Disney, 1953) An original concept painting of Never Land from "Peter Pan " by Disney Legend Mary Blair. In this exceptional piece, Blair visualizes Pan and the Darling children arriving at Never Land, seen as a mysterious island hovering amongst the stars, with Captain Hook's pirate ship in the bay. With an image size of 7 " x 7.75 " on a 9 " x 8.5 " artboard, the painting is accomplished in gouache and displays in very good condition, with pinholes at the corners from original production use. The painting was finished with a clear overcoat that turned the unpainted border grey with age, with light grey spotting in the yellow grassy area of the island, and the edge of the sky above.
