Lot 184 A Disney Good Housekeeping Exhibit Catalog.
(Alexander Gallery, 1987) A hardcover catalog of Christmas of ‘87, the Alexander Gallery’s exhibit of original Disney Good Housekeeping Art in New York City, Dec. 1987. In 1934, Good Housekeeping and the Walt Disney Studios joined to have the Studio supply for each issue a single page Children’s feature, including characters from Disney cartoons. Good Housekeeping felt it would increase sales, and Disney liked a permanent advance publicity piece for its latest cartoon shorts. From 1934 until 1944, Disney created and supplied artwork for a page in each issue of the magazine. The pages are considered some of the finest character artwork of the time, and this exhibit displayed all known surviving original paintings. Measuring 8.75 " x 10.75 ", the hardcover catalog is in fine condition.
