Lot 183 A Large Collection of 1930s Disney Good Housekeeping Pages.
(Disney/Good Housekeeping, 1930s-40s) A collection of 50 Disney children’s pages clipped from Good Housekeeping magazine. In 1934, Good Housekeeping and the Walt Disney Studios joined to have the Studio supply for each issue a single page Children’s feature, including characters from Disney cartoons. Good Housekeeping felt it would increase sales, and Disney liked a permanent advance publicity piece for its latest cartoon shorts. From 1934 until 1944, Disney created and supplied artwork for a page in each issue of the magazine. The pages are considered some of the finest character artwork of the time, and were often clipped and saved in scrapbooks. This collection includes 50 pages, saved loose in protective pages. Each measuring approximately 7 " x 10.5 ", the pages are in good condition, with small creases and light discoloration from age, and irregular edges on the side cut from the magazine.
