1786 Maris 18-M R-1 Bridle Variety New Jersey VF25+Sharpness near VF35 but covered with microscopic roughness and there is a spot of shallow verdigris at the throat. The only contact mark is a small rim nick at the first U in UNUM. Chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown on the devices. An attractive piece in spite of the minor planchet roughness. The "Bridle" die crack is strong. Listed on page 69 in the 2023 "Redbook." Weight 155.6 grains.
