This Portmeirion Pomona collection hinged enamel treasure box is manufactured in England. The oval form is constructed of enamel on metal with gilded metal mounts. The exterior lid is decorated with a transfer-printed botanical illustration of Grimwood's Royal Georgel peaches. A continuous frieze of various fruits, including plums, cherries, and apples, encircles the sides of the box in a traditional botanical style. The interior lid features the script inscription Grimwood's Royal Georgel next to a corresponding botanical peach illustration. The base of the box bears the printed mark POMONA above an oval containing the words Made PORTMEIRION in England. The item is finished with gadrooned gilded metal rims and a matching hinge. It is accompanied by its original dark green presentation box, which is gold-stamped with the Portmeirion mark inside a foliate wreath.
