Lot 376 Crummles Handpainted English Enamel Limited Edition Treasure Box, Golden Wedding Commemorative

A Crummles and Co. handpainted English enamel treasure box, produced as a limited edition commemorative for the Golden Wedding of Queen Elizabeth II. The circular box features a vibrant red enamel body and a hinged lid. The lid is decorated with a central Royal Cypher ER II in red script, encircled by a hand-painted floral wreath depicting the four national emblems of the United Kingdom: the Tudor rose for England, the thistle for Scotland, the daffodil for Wales, and the shamrock for Northern Ireland, all set against a polished white enamel ground. The lid and base are joined by fluted gilt metal mounts with a thumbpiece. The underside of the base bears a black printed factory mark for Crummles and Co. within a scalloped border, along with the printed text Limited Edition, No. 451, and of 2,500. A small hand-painted letter F is visible on the lid near the daffodil, likely a decorator mark. The item is accompanied by its original navy blue presentation box, which is gilt-stamped with the Crummles logo, and an original descriptive leaflet serving as a certificate of authenticity.
