^Lot 375 Set of 5 Halcyon Days and Staffordshire Enamel Year Themed Trinket Boxes

This collection consists of five contemporary English enamel hinged boxes, featuring four annual boxes by Halcyon Days and one by Staffordshire Enamels. Each piece is constructed of enamel on copper with an oval form and metal mounts. The Halcyon Days boxes are from the A Year to Remember series and include the years 1987, 2000, 2007, and 2012. The 1987 box features a blue and yellow trellis ground with a central floral cartouche. The 2000 box depicts purple morning glories overlooking a coastal landscape. The 2007 box is decorated with a pattern of strawberries and blossoms on a gold-toned ground, and the 2012 box displays roses and lavender on a light blue ground. The Staffordshire Enamels box from 1996 features a central leopard cartouche surrounded by exotic floral motifs on a white ground. Interior lids on the Halcyon Days pieces are inscribed with A Year to Remember or The Year to Remember in black script, while the Staffordshire piece contains a hand-painted floral sprig. Base marks include the Halcyon Days Enamels Bilston and Battersea Enamels Revival marks and later Royal Warrant marks. The Staffordshire box bears a circular maker mark, the designation Hand Painted, and artist initials PS.
