^Lot 365 Limoges France Porcelain Trinket Box, Eiffel Tower

A Limoges porcelain hinged trinket box featuring a miniature model of the Eiffel Tower set upon an oval base. The tower is decorated with a hand-painted black lattice pattern over a white ground, accented with gilt highlights at the corners, intermediate levels, and the tip. The oval base is finished in a green glaze with mottled brown and reddish decoration representing the Champ de Mars. The interior of the bottom half of the box features a hand-painted depiction of the French tricolor flag. The box is fitted with a decorative gold-tone metal mount and hinge, with a clasp shaped in the form of the Arc de Triomphe. The interior of the lid bears handwritten marks in black script reading Limoges France, peint main, and the initials OE.
