^Lot 363 Dubarry Limoges Black and White Cat Trinket Box with Mouse

Produced by Dubarry in the Limoges region of France, this vintage hand-painted porcelain trinket box features a black and white bat with green eyes and a pink nose surmounting a domed lid. The exterior of the box is finished in a reddish-pink marbled glaze decorated with scattered white six-petaled floral motifs. The interior of the base is hand-painted with a small grey mouse. The piece is constructed with brass-tone metal mounts, including a decorative hinge and a clasp shaped like a mouse. The underside of the box bears several marks: a black stamp reading DUBARRY above Porcelaine de Limoges and MADE IN FRANCE; a black script peint main mark; and a green circular LIMOGES FRANCE mark surrounding a central stylized S monogram.
