This piece features a high-relief polychrome design with a glossy glaze finish. The body depicts scenes from the folk tale, including the Piper in a red cloak leading a procession of children through a town gate, set against half-timbered buildings and townspeople. The handle is modeled as a gnarled tree trunk topped with green foliage and a perched owl, while the spout is designed as a house roof with an integrated lantern. The jug bears the molded signatures of designers Charles Noke and Harry Fenton on the sides. The underside includes the Royal Doulton factory mark, the full narrative of the story in text, and the hand-painted edition number identifying it as No 313 of a limited production of 600.
