^Lot 355 Royal Doulton Titanian Speckled Blue Bowl with Two Ceramic Eggs by J. Birbeck Senior

This Royal Doulton Titanian ware bowl is finished in a characteristic speckled and mottled cobalt blue glaze. The lot includes two solid ceramic eggs intended for display within the bowl, each glazed to mimic natural birds eggs. One egg features a cream-colored ground with reddish-brown speckling, and the other displays a dark brown, gray, and white mottled pattern. The bowl is of circular form with a gently flared rim and a raised foot. The underside of the bowl features the Royal Doulton England circular factory mark under a crown, with the word TITANIAN printed below. It also bears the hand-painted script signature of J. Birbeck Snr, a prominent artist for the firm specializing in naturalistic subjects, alongside the hand-painted characters D. 3 and 910.
