^Lot 346 Pair of Doulton Lambeth Margaret Thompson Faience Maidens Vases

Composed of two complementary vases, each featuring stylized Art Nouveau depictions of maidens in flowing gowns set within a pastoral landscape with blossoming branches beneath a cloudy sky. The decoration is executed in soft pastel tones of lavender, blue, green, and yellow with fine black linework accentuating the figures and floral motifs. The cylindrical forms flare slightly at the rim and are finished with a yellow-glazed base and pale blue upper register. Both pieces display intricate detailing typical of Thompson's faience designs produced at the Doulton Lambeth studio during the late 19th to early 20th century. The underside features the Doulton Lambeth backstamp and artist's monogram. Each vase marked 22.
