^Lot 343 Doulton by W. Slater Hand-Painted Floral Porcelain Covered Vase

An English porcelain covered vase by W. Slater for Royal Doulton, of urn form. The vessel is flanked by a pair of scrolled, gilded handles, with a neck and foot decorated in a fluted design with gilt accents. The baluster body is finished in a high-gloss glaze and hand-painted with a floral arrangement. The decoration includes blossoms in yellow, purple, blue, pink, and white, rendered with detailed and naturalistic shading. The artist's signature appears along the lower portion of the body. The vase retains its cover, decorated with gilt and surmounted by an acanthus leaf-form finial.
