Lot 333 Wedgwood Octagonal Fruit Lustre Finger Bowl Z5457
This octagonal footed bowl was produced by Wedgwood in England. The piece is crafted from fine porcelain and features an eight-sided rim with a circular raised foot. The exterior is decorated with a mottled, iridescent blue and purple lustre glaze featuring hand-painted and gilded fruit motifs, including clusters of grapes and plums. The interior is finished in a mottled orange-red lustre glaze with a central hand-painted fruit medallion. A gilded geometric border is applied to the inner rim, and the top edge is fully gilded. The base is marked with a gilded Portland Vase factory mark above the word WEDGWOOD and MADE IN ENGLAND. A hand-painted red script pattern number Z5457 is present with an X mark underneath. This pattern is part of the Wedgwood fruit lustre line produced circa 1915-1929 and is associated with the designs of Daisy Makeig-Jones.
