This Wedgwood bone china display plate features the "Argus Pheasant" pattern on a striking silver-toned ground in the style of Fairyland Lustre. The polychrome decoration depicts a lush landscape populated by exotic birds, including a central Argus Pheasant joined by cranes amidst blooming peonies and stylized rockwork. This scene is executed through transfer printing and hand-painted enamel highlights, finished with a gilded line at the rim. The reverse bears the Wedgwood Portland Vase factory mark. This piece originates from the Rubin Collection, as indicated by the circular collection sticker on the underside.
