^Lot 325 Wedgwood Fairyland Argus Pheasant Plate

This Wedgwood bone china display plate features the "Argus Pheasant" pattern on a lustrous black ground in the style of Fairyland Lustre. The polychrome decoration depicts a lush landscape populated by exotic birds, including a central Argus Pheasant joined by cranes amidst blooming peonies and stylized rockwork. This scene is executed through transfer printing and hand-painted enamel highlights, finished with a gilded line at the rim. The reverse bears the Wedgwood Portland Vase factory mark and the hand-painted pattern number W1735. This piece originates from the Rubin Collection, as indicated by the circular collection sticker on the underside.
