Lot 317 Wedgwood Bleu Souffle Lustre Fish Vase

The vase reflects early 20th-century Wedgwood experimentation with powder-blue, or bleu souffle, wares, modeled after 18th-century Chinese porcelains with chuiqing ("blown blue") glaze and gilt decoration. It features a powder blue ground with a gilt underwater scene depicting multiple fish swimming above coral. The underside bears the Wedgwood Portland vase backstamp.
