^Lot 315 Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre Nizami Pattern Cabinet Plate by Daisy Makeig-Jones

A Wedgwood porcelain cabinet plate from the Fairyland Lustre series, featuring the Nizami pattern designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones. The plate is constructed with a smooth rim and a shallow well, finished with a high-gloss black ground on the face and a white glaze on the underside. The central decoration consists of a Chinoiserie garden landscape executed in vibrant polychrome enamels. The scene depicts a pagoda containing figures, a curved bridge, a gnarled pine tree, and large stylized floral blooms. The enameling is applied in a thick, textured style against the black field. The rim is finished with a white-on-black scrolling wave border and a fine gilded edge. The base features a golden-brown printed factory mark depicting the Portland Vase above the text WEDGWOOD, three florets, and MADE IN ENGLAND. A hand-painted red decorator mark is present below the factory stamp. The underside also bears a circular silver sticker for the Rubin Collection.
