^Lot 312 Wedgwood Black Fairyland Lustre Lidded Malfrey Pot, Candlemas Z5157

Covered pot designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones in the Black Fairyland color scheme, depicting the Candlemas feast, which commemorates the Presentation at the Temple and the Purification of the Virgin Mary. The design includes narrow blue lustre bands with suspended brown figures resembling bell ringers, and stylized white candles shaded in blue with human heads encircled by green aureoles. The lid features the Flaming Wheel pattern. The underside marked with the Wedgwood backstamp, and Z5157.
