^Lot 279 2pc Wedgwood Logo and Crests Sample Plates

This lot features two ceramic sample plates used for showcasing custom crest and monogramming options. The first plate is a retailer sample for Wm. H. Plummer & Co. of New York, produced in glazed white porcelain or bone china. The rim displays a variety of monograms and family crests in gold, cobalt blue, and iron red. A large gold script mark for Wm. H. Plummer is positioned on the rim, while the center contains a raised gold foliate monogram. The reverse shows various inventory stickers, including a circular label for the Rubin collection, and a faint green factory mark. The second plate is a Wedgwood manufacturer sample in bone china. The reverse bears a green printed mark with the Portland Vase icon above text for Wedgwood Metallised Bone China, and Made in England. The rim is decorated with numerous institutional and corporate logos, including the Singapore Police Force, Lloyds, and various hotels. The center features a gold lion passant above the word Ethiopian. A small paper salesman label is adhered to the front surface. The reverse also bears a Rubin collection sticker.
