Lot 275 Wedgwood Hand-Painted Earthenware Lapwing Bird Wall Platter

This large circular earthenware charger, identified by the impressed mark as Wedgwood, features a central hand-painted scene of a crested lapwing bird with wings outstretched. The bird is depicted in a naturalistic marshland landscape with tall reeds and a body of water, executed in a painterly style with a soft color palette. The reverse of the platter bears the impressed WEDGWOOD mark. Additional markings include a circular collection label for the Sydney B. Levin Collection, a paper inventory label reading T122c Bird Charger c.1885 1875, and a handwritten reference number C 1731 on the rim.
