This ceramic compote is a product of Wedgwood & Barlaston, as marked on base, featuring the seashells and starfish design. The item is a footed bowl characterized by a wide, shallow well and a short, tapered pedestal base. The interior is finished in a cream-white glaze with a black transfer-printed decorative border consisting of stylized starfish, scrolled motifs, and feathery sea-grass sprigs.
