Lot 265 Wedgwood Creamware Mr. Punch Small Footed Bowl with Figural Dog Supports Circa 1898

This is a fine late 19th-century Wedgwood creamware footed bowl, dated circa 1898. The vessel features a creamy-white glazed body finished with a hand-painted orange rim. The bowl is supported by three molded figural legs in the form of seated dogs, possibly pugs or bulldogs, each wearing a white ruff accented with red dots. The interior center depicts a sepia-toned illustration of the character Mr. Punch seated in a chair next to a dog and a banner inscribed CHAMPION. The underside bears impressed manufacturer marks including WEDGWOOD and various date or artisan codes. Provenance includes the Rubin Collection, indicated by a circular collection sticker on the base, alongside a handwritten identification label for the Punch design.
