^Lot 261 Wedgwood Botanical Charger Signed JB Evans

This large circular charger is crafted by Wedgwood from fine earthenware. The piece features a detailed hand-painted botanical study executed in monochrome blue, or camaieu bleu, against a white ground. The central composition depicts large, textured begonia leaves with prominent veining, accompanied by delicate trailing stems of flowering plants. The rim is finished with a thin hand-painted ochre or orange-brown band. The front of the charger is signed JB Evans near the lower right edge of the floral decoration. The reverse bears an impressed mark Wedgwood. This item is from the Rubin Collection, as indicated by a silver circular label on the reverse.
