^Lot 235 Wedgwood Jasperware Egyptian Black Basalt Gilded Tutankhamun Lidded Box

This circular lidded trinket box is manufactured by Wedgwood and is part of the Egyptian collection. The item is crafted from black basalt stoneware with a matte finish. The lid features a gilded profile bust of King Tutankhamun depicted in a traditional Nemes headdress and an ornate Wesekh collar. This decoration is applied using a gilding technique over the black and gold basalt body. The underside of the base bears the impressed factory mark WEDGWOOD, the letter P, and the number 70.
