^Lot 230 Doulton Lambeth Gilt Stoneware Unusual Crab Vase

A small English art pottery vase produced by Doulton Lambeth. The body features an allover textured, impressed floral-like ground, creating a tactile surface and added visual depth. This ground is accented with applied gilt brushwork. The vase is decorated with a marine-themed design, depicting several reddish-orange crabs of varying sizes rendered in relief and arranged across the surface. The crabs are shown among thick, flowing green seaweed, forming an underwater scene. The combination of color, texture, and subject matter distinguishes the piece within Doulton Lambeth stoneware production. The underside bears the Doulton Lambeth impressed stamp, and artists' markings.
