^Lot 223 Pair of Doulton Lambeth by Florence Barlow Stoneware Bird Vases

Each vase features three circular panels surrounding pate-sur-pate style decoration of birds amid tall grasses. The panels are separated by hand-painted, textured floral motifs. The shoulders are adorned with incised Art Nouveau foliate designs in blue and tan tones, while the necks display rosette relief decoration. Each vase rests on a footed base embellished with a leaf-motif relief. Both examples bear the Doulton Lambeth impressed mark dated 1887 to the underside, along with multiple artist monograms, including that of Florence Barlow.
