^Lot 198 Coalport Bertie Bassett Limited Edition Advertising Figurine

A Coalport porcelain figurine depicting Bertie Bassett, the mascot for Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts. The figure is stylized to appear as if constructed from various pieces of liquorice candy, featuring a pink and black liquorice roll head, a black and white striped torso, yellow shorts, and granulated blue and pink pieces for the feet and hat trim. The figure is depicted in a standing pose holding a black top hat aloft. The figurine is mounted on a black rectangular plinth base with the Bassett brand name printed in red script on the front. The underside of the base features printed black text: BERTIE BASSETT, No. 542, in a Limited Edition of 1,500, (c) 2004 Trebor Bassett Limited, COALPORT, and MADE IN ENGLAND. The edition number 542 is hand-painted in black. A hand-painted mark consisting of a lowercase r above the letters WW is also present on the underside.
