This glazed ceramic color trial Toby jug, depicts Sir Winston Churchill in a seated position. The figure is dressed in a black overcoat over a white collared shirt and a blue bow tie with white polka dots. Churchill is shown wearing a black Homburg-style hat with a cigar in his mouth and his hands resting near his lapels. The piece is finished with a high-gloss polychrome glaze. The base bears a green underglaze Royal Doulton factory mark featuring a lion, crown, and interlocking D symbols, surrounded by the words Made in England and Royal Doulton. The name Winston Churchill and the numeral 6 are also printed on the underside.
