^Lot 154 Royal Doulton Very Rare Mephistopheles Kingsware Match Striker with Sterling Silver Rim

The vessel features a dark brown treacle glaze and is decorated with a low relief figure of Mephistopheles rendered in shades of orange and yellow. The reverse side displays a textured, heart-shaped motif designed as a striking surface. The jar is fitted with a sterling silver rim crafted by Henry Clifford Davis. The base is marked with the standard Royal Doulton factory stamp.
